It’s a brilliant thing when music can charge you within seconds. And Balthazar & Jackrock’s brutal, engaging Exodus does just that. When I say brutal I mean fast and furious splashes of Acid illuminating pacey drums, plus the accompanying exhilarating pads which lend the production its very own flair. Although at just shy of six minutes is it long enough? A darker mood then takes hold on Burning Down which not surprisingly continues to tease out suggestion via a What You Going To Do voiced question of intent over unnerving electrics. Finally, the electrifying funkier rhythms of Neon God completes at over seven minutes of breathless release.
