Felix Da Housecat – Founders Of Filth Vol. 3 – Founders Of Filth

This is fucking excellent. Not only do you get to play big time but it’s downright sleazy, injecting a sense of bravado and dare I say it, FUN into increasingly tired dance equations. Warning: it does talk about t**s and Coc**** – fab! Energy, is co-produced by Felix Da Housecat and Clarian while featuring Agata’s teasingly wonderful voice which rocks hard sounding electronically charged with a big, exciting difference. Not House, Not Techno. Who cares? It’s brilliant. Next and with the addition of Jamie Principle is the excellent, They Just Want 2 B U fusing deep bass together with chiming 80’s rhythms to devastating effect. Finally, Color of Rayy sees Aphrohead feel dreamy across up-tempo drums, effected vocals and brutal Acid attitude to round off an excellent number 3.

Felix Da Housecat – Founders Of Filth Vol. 2 – Founders Of Filth

Connecting a proud sense of history together with the ethereal vibes portrayed beautifully on the aptly named The Divine volume two sees the next chapter from Felix Da Housecat’s label. Breathy voice empowers the Deep arrangement with classic bass notes, probing drums and atmospherically rich music colouring in the spaces these sounds are very much still fresh, vibrant. Moonroom’s Hold/Release follows with brisk snares plus a chiming attack on the senses as tense, unnerving rhythms playfully unfold. Leaving the FOFtréaL Quintet to finish on a low-slung high with I Won’t Try fusing a rush of harmony together with funky beats and bass. All excellent.

Felix Da Housecat – Founders Of Filth Volume One – Founders Of Filth

It comes with a sense of relief and a very positive relief at that to hear this brilliant record kick starting his brand new imprint. Even if just the beats pulsed and coursed through the duration of these eight minutes then In Thee Now would be more than worth it. But as luck would have it you’re treated to slightly sinister voices and a moody ignition of strange, electrical sounds too. Continuing the theme of excellent music is the combo of Aphrohead & Clarian who deliver the atmospherically rich chimes of Know Thyself with distinction. Which only leaves the party-central combination of Felix Da Housecat, Jamie Principle and Clarian’s – It’s Your World to etch out sassy, funky rhythms to get down and groove to.
