Greg Fenton reviews EF82 – Parameters EP – Friday Island Lo Tides
Delivered with an earth-scorching intensity, the lead track, Parameters, defies its own boundaries reaching toward something seemingly infinite. Undulating synth stabs become drone-like in execution as dub effects echo into the distance, accompanied by pounding singular drums alongside haunting voices shifting across the spectrum. Followed by Constraint and then the compelling specific intensity of Threshold, which feels even larger in scope, this collection of tracks adds a welcome new dimension to the words, dub and techno.
