Greg Fenton reviews Acid Nab – Might Go Out – The Freebooter Lounge
Might Go Out is packed full of so many hooks that it stings in an abundance of shining, tempting, rhythmic shuffling between the breezy light of day and the temptation of after-dark. The vocal is almost secondary, forming a layer rather than a melody, but it speaks its own language, accented by trepidation, adding to the overall charm of mystery as horns blaze in filtered glory and the bass defiantly struts with a head full of Jamcian Dub. Drums roll, swaying with effortless grooves, giving the overall effect of life lived to the full, while those jazzy, heart-warming keys towards the end add a real sense of pleasure. Complimented by an energised, tougher, four-on-the-floor, House flavoured remix by Klark Bent, all options remain open.
