Greg Fenton reviews David Mayer, Nico Stojan, Tooker feat. JAW – Wake Up – SONARA
A beautifully constructed piece of music that moves with the ease of a song, its breathy vocals lifting the narrative while each phrase adds emotional weight. A sequence of rolling toms sets everything in motion, and the surrounding textures evolve with quiet purpose until the bass steps forward — bold, resonant — joined by a rush of percussion and keys that deepen the atmosphere.
Music this perfectly pitched doesn’t arrive often, which makes its clarity and calibre all the more striking.
Released in memory of SONARA co‑founder Nico Stojan, it carries a sense of devotion that feels present in every detail.
