I like records that say something, and Sanctuary talks up the freedom of sound and the power of dance, loud and proud. Musically, it’s defined by pulsating keyboard stabs, sizzling hi-hats and a notably weighty kick drum, all contributing to its direct, uncomplicated energy. There’s something refreshing about the straightforwardness of it all. Again, it’s about the simplicity of time and place — music doing what it needs to do without overcomplicating the moment.
