An exceptional piece of music Ron Trent’s production frames Rochelle Jordan’s tantalising, eloquent vocals perfectly in time and place. What’s so notable here is the openness within the sounds, playing with styles and notation so freely as if they were invented for each other.
Guitars craft an edge while the surrender of cool keys and the walking freedom of bass define music to get lost in for sure. Funky enough to move to, or more simply a luscious orchestration for the soul, melodies and possibilities seem to open out endlessly, up to and very much including the warm breath of summer sun.
