Greg Fenton reviews uh – pleroma EP – PRAH Recordings

uh are the sum of combined creative sparks generated by brother-sister duo Dominic & Fionnuala Kennedy, and their music teases out warm melodic shapes informed by swathes of electronic discourse punctuating the words in due process. At times, hinting at the ethereal while at others, dancing around in celebratory motion, the music is a joy to behold. Spread across four numbers, the introspective and brilliantly titled, i ate the light, fills the void via a lost eighties connection, channelling big spaces with Cocteau Twins imagined beauty and the pulsing introspection of being.

The remaining tracks, jungle parkway, and I want my life back converse between bass-driven rhythms and yearning to reinforce the pride of meaning as voices vary between dreams and provocation, formulating sounds that intrigue just like they compel.
