Magazine Sixty Music Review with Visions Of Light

Greg Fenton reviews Visions Of Light – Swimming In A Sea Of Stars – The Freebooter Lounge

As summer drew slowly to a close, you might be forgiven for thinking that music would become more energised to shake off the winter blues, but given the weather’s unpredictability, who knows which way the wind blows?

Following on from their recent album The Mandala Vortex, the trio continue in their quest to ignite senses and sensibilities with this latest selection of largely chilled rhythms and atmospheres. From the deeply engaging excellence of Platform and the heady voices adorning the Balearic sincerity of La Denses Secrete through to the cool trumpet inflections colouring Calling Malmo, it feels like the bliss of sunshine may never end. And as with the prior album, the music produced is about openness to the alternatives of possibility and the temptation of reclining, revolutionary movement. Dive straight in.
