Magazine Sixty Music Review with zakè & marine eyes

Greg Fenton reviews zakè & marine eyes – Still Beauty – Past Inside the Present

I thought I’d mention a couple of releases I missed during Magazine Sixty’s month-long absence, as I feel they’re important enough to bring to your attention if they also passed you by.

My first question is this: when it comes to purely atmospheric music—music less concerned with rhythmic drive and more focused on communicating something singular, intimate, and honest—does it get much better than this?

Past Inside the Present have been releasing a remarkable series of records, and this is no exception. Beautifully crafted soundscapes unfold as the perfect accompaniment to a sunrise or sunset, or to any moment in between. The music is expansive, immersive and thoroughly contemporary in spirit. This isn’t simply music to chill out to; it’s music that invigorates, stirring the imagination and the heart with consequence.

Have a listen and see whether you find yourself agreeing somewhere along the way.
