One of the attributes that shines through from Pluck is its defining ability to sound so refreshing, especially given the slew of familiar sounding releases which are ever present these days. The production carves out its own niche successfully exciting combinations of playful, synthesized melodies and rolling, provocative rhythms to ignite the senses. There is also a funky sense of time and space at play here too, something so often missing from the formula numbers around. The tougher, resolutely heavy-duty Sunday Morning Session hits next via brutal kick drums accompanied by unfurling waves of sound suggesting moodier ideas and notation. Leaving the punchier beats and bass featured on, Off The Road to end pointing in the direction of the spirit of adventure as caustic keys apply the science of sound to heated equations.
