The rewarding aspect of listening to all sorts of music is that in amongst things that may not appeal to you lie pearls of wisdom. For me the EP’s title track: Winter Sleep is so perfectly formed that it almost brings a tear to the eye. It’s all down to the heart-wrenching keys which have been so heavily treated as to give them a rough, intense character, proving to be inescapably emotional. The drums practically play back-up although the supporting handclaps plus eventual release of energy via the hi-hats add a beautiful tension to the arrangement as the music unfolds to reveal more of itself.
